Gospel singer Mercy Masika has interesting advice to women who want to be in happy marriages. She says that a woman though strong in her own way must learn to be submissive to the authority of her husband. This is something we might find strange in today's world of 'independent women.'
She likens it to military discipline,
“God is a God of order and Yeees I’m answerable and accountable to my hubby. I am a power but under authority. If the military had no authorities it would be ugly. I have learnt that many of us don’t even understand submission and consider it weakness. It is not.”
She goes further to saying you have to top that submissiveness to openness in a relationship. Here we are not just talking about phone passwords but even finances.
Does your partner know exactly what you are worth?
Masika advises that couples should share bank accounts. She does one with her husband and even let's him manage the finances because she doesn't trust herself with money and shoes.
“We have a joint bank account though he’s in charge of our money. If I managed our money, I would probably finish it on shoes and clothes,” she says.
Masika is married to David Muguro and they have two kids.
