Parody account cons Akisa Wandera's fans


KTN News’ daytime anchor Akisa Wandera is a victim of identity theft and an online scam. Akisa Went public with information about a fake Facebook account being run with similar name that was being used to con unsuspecting members of the public.

“So turns out there's two of us here with the same (this one) legit, the other out to make money. Beware! I've reported the account to Facebook as well,” says Akisa in a post where she posted screenshots of an inbox conversation between the said account and one of the victims.

In the screenshots shared by the screen siren, the person running the fake account attempts to solicit for funds from an unsuspecting victim claiming that they are fundraising for a charity.

“Am having a fundraiser here for Mama Caroline Children’s home in buying food and clothing,” reads part of the text in which the con also asks for contributions to be sent to a  mobile number.

Akisa says she has reported the account to Facebook and is still waiting for it to be blocked.
