Kisumu Woman Pleads guilty to Defiling a Schoolboy

KISUMU, 25TH APRIL 2018: A 24 years old  woman  on Wednesday pleaded guilty  for defiling a 14 year old boy at a children's' court in Kisumu. 


Appearing before Principal Magistrate Joan Wambilyanga ,Judith Wandera defended her actions stating that she could not  establish the age of the defendant when they first met.

"We met at a drinking joint one evening of April 2016 in Kondele where he even offered to buy me drinks . We exchanged phone contacts and started datin," Wandera told the court.


Wandera also claimed  the boy was a drug abuser, a boda boda operator  and only appeared young in court after having his dreadlocks shaved at a juvenile detention center. 


"He had  dreadlocks on his head when we met,however after being taken  to a juvenile  detention the dreadlocks were shaved. He looked much older with the dreadlocks."

According to the minor's parent,their son was a class seven pupil at Manyatta  Arabs Primary but stopped attending school after meeting Wandera.

The parents further stated  they had reported the matter to the police who arrested Wandera following reports that their son had already moved in with the accused.
 
The Prosecutor of the case ,Nyakundi Mukaya disclosed that medical evidence  collected  from the specimen of the two confirmed Wandera and the minor indeed had an affair.


Wandera will remain in custody awaiting  judgement on May 9th 2018.
