Kisumu County Assembly Speaker Defends Decision to Buy iPads for MCAs

KISUMU, 8TH MAY 2018: Kisumu County Assembly Speaker Onyango Oloo has defended plans to purchase iPads for the MCAs at a cost close to Sh. 8 million.

Oloo says the gadgets are very important in running the affairs of the Assembly noting that the MCAs will have the opportunity to access standing orders, order papers and house business calendars online.

He says the World is moving in a digitalized era and the Assembly will not transact its business the traditional way.

Speaking to the press in Kisumu, the Speaker says there are additional funds in the Supplementary budget that was recently passed to modernize the Information Communication Technology (ICT) of Kisumu County Assembly.

Oloo says mechanism have been put in place for clear accountability to the gadgets that will be bought for the new MCAs
