KISUMU, 9TH FEBRUARY 2018: Nyando Member of Parliament Jared Okello says Nasa deeply concerned with the way the jubilee administration is disregarding the rule of law.
"If a government chooses to sidestep the constitution by disregarding court orders then we are inviting the rule of the jungle," Mr. Okello said.
He says he will be writing to the immigration department asking for clarifications on the unconstitutionally deportation of National Super Alliance activist Dr. Miguna Miguna.
"If we allow this thing to go unnoticed and unattended then I am afraid we will have concerted efforts by Jubilee to deport many more who perhaps claim no other citizenship apart from being Kenyans." he added.
Speaking to the media in Kisumu on Friday Mr Okello reaffirmed his earlier demands to Jubilee government to bring back Miguna saying at no time did he denounce his Kenyan citizenship.
He says Kenya is a country that must be managed and protected by the rule of law and such ploys by the government must be directly challenged.
The High Court had on Wednesday given the Director of Immigration Dr. Gordon Kihalangwa up to Friday to explain the circumstances surrounding the deportation of the Nasa activist while he was "in custody of the court."
