Nation Media Group(NMG) the largest independent media house in East and Central Africa has launched a record label - Lit Music.
In the fast diversifying business space that has become common with corporate in Kenya, Nation becomes the first Kenyan media house to get into the recording business.
In a memo released by the company’s Corporate Division, Nation announced the launch of Lit Music Record label in a bid to establish itself in the music enterprise.
NMG said the label would conduct talent scouting, development of new artist brand, managing their brands, coordinate production, manufacture, distribution, marketing and promotion of Kenyan music talent.
The Group’s Acting GCEO Stephen Gitagama said the new record label would find ways to make it efficient for local artist to have transparency on revenues earned through various platforms.
This is part of the company’s strategy to transform into a modern digital content company with the music from the stable being promoted across all the NMG’s platforms of broadcast, print and digital.
They will be unveiling artistes who have signed under the stable in a show that airs Thursday at 10pm on NTV. Among them being Gospel Artiste Gloria Muliro and Hellena Ken of the Mambo Yabadilika fame song.
Lit 360 will be hosted by Miriam Bishar who is a Bachelor of Economics student.
“I am excited for the artistes and also to be part of this incredible journey, being able to meet amazing talents and seeing them create their art in their natural space,” Said Miriam.
